New details and images have been released regarding an unidentified homicide victim found along a Long Island highway in 2011, near the Gilgo Beach serial killings location. Referred to as “Asian Doe,” the victim was determined to be a young Asian male wearing women’s clothing and may have identified as a woman. The victim likely died before 2006 and suffered a violent death by blunt force trauma.
Authorities are using genetic genealogy to determine the victim’s ethnicity, revealing Southern Chinese descent. The victim may have been a sex worker and spent time in New York City before their death. This victim’s remains were found near two other victims, and officials are seeking public assistance in identifying the individual.
No one has been charged in connection to the murder of “Asian Doe.” However, Rex Heuermann, a former New York architect, has been charged with killing six women tied to the Gilgo Beach case, including some of the victims found in the same area as “Asian Doe.” Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Gilgo Beach serial killings spanned from the early 1990s to 2011, with at least 11 bodies recovered, many identified as sex workers. Authorities continue to investigate these cases, seeking justice for the victims and urging anyone with information to come forward.
