Cooler weather has aided over 8,600 emergency personnel in the containment of three major wildfires in Southern California. The largest fire, the Bridge Fire, has burned over 54,000 acres, destroyed 49 structures, and threatened thousands more. Evacuation orders were scaled back in some areas on Sunday, while other communities remained under evacuation. The Line Fire in San Bernardino county was over 38,000 acres and has injured three firefighters. The cause of the fire has been attributed to a man charged with arson. The Airport Fire in Orange and Riverside counties was over 23,000 acres and destroyed 152 structures. The fire was likely started accidentally by a public works crew. The weather forecast for the region has been favorable for firefighting efforts, with cooler temperatures, drizzle, light showers, and high humidity. Evacuation orders remained in place in many areas, and the National Weather Service predicted continued cool temperatures and wet conditions for the region. As of Sunday, the fires were being battled by over 6,000 emergency personnel. Despite challenges like thick smoke and dry conditions in some areas, firefighters have made progress in establishing containment lines and mitigating the spread of the blazes.
