Conservative activist Joe Oltmann is being fined $1,000 a day for withholding evidence of his claims of election rigging made against former Dominion Voting Systems employee Eric Coomer in 2020. Oltmann claimed to have heard an “Antifa conference call” where a Dominion employee suggested the election was rigged in favor of Joe Biden. Despite being subpoenaed in February, Oltmann has failed to provide evidence to support his accusations.
In a recent deposition, Oltmann left the courthouse, leading to the judge ordering him to pay attorney’s fees and daily fines until he complies with court orders. Oltmann has a history of flouting court orders and has made extreme comments on his podcast, including suggestions that political opponents should be executed. Coomer has also filed defamation lawsuits against other individuals and organizations, including former President Donald Trump and conservative media outlets.
Oltmann is a conservative podcaster involved in political activism with FEC United and has been part of campaigns promoting falsehoods about the 2020 election results. He has organized protests in Arizona against election certification and has spoken out against the results in Maricopa County. Oltmann’s involvement in spreading election misinformation has led to legal consequences and financial penalties for his refusal to provide evidence to support his claims.
