Cardiologist Eiman Jahangir describes his recent suborbital flight with Blue Origin as a humbling and awesome experience. He was among six tourists shot into space on the 11-minute New Shepard flight, becoming the latest astronaut. The flight marked the 26th in the program’s history and the eighth mission to carry people. Other passengers on the flight included entrepreneurs, a professor, and a college student who became the youngest woman to cross into outer space. The most recent Blue Origin mission took place on May 19 after a previous failed uncrewed test flight caused a nearly two-year layoff for the company. Jahangir, who moved to Nashville from war-torn Iran as a child, fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to space after being selected by a crowdfunding effort. His family traveled to Texas to watch his dream come true. Blue Origin offers opportunities for individuals to fly on New Shepard flights, providing a unique and awe-inspiring experience.
