Scenes from Penn State Football’s Training Camp Opener

The 2024 Penn State football season is officially underway as the Nittany Lions kicked off training camp on Wednesday. Head coach James Franklin, entering his 11th season with the team, has brought in new leaders for all three phases of the game. Former Indiana head coach Tom Allen will lead the defense, Andy Kotelnicki joins as offensive coordinator from Kansas, and Justin Lustig takes over special teams duties.

After finishing the previous season with a 10-3 record and a Peach Bowl loss to Ole Miss, Penn State is looking to make a strong comeback this year. With quarterback Drew Allar and running backs Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen returning, the offense is expected to be solid. On the defensive side, the team will have converted defensive end Abdul Carter back in the lineup.

The Nittany Lions will kick off their season on August 31st, facing West Virginia in what promises to be an exciting matchup. The team is gearing up for a successful season under the leadership of Franklin and the new coaching staff. Fans are eagerly anticipating the start of the 2024 season and have high hopes for what the team can achieve. Stay tuned for updates as the Nittany Lions prepare to take the field and represent Penn State in the upcoming season.
