Armed man near Pennsylvania golf course fatally shot by police


A man was fatally shot by police officers near the Cranberry Heights Golf Course in Butler County, Pennsylvania on Tuesday. The incident began around 10:30 a.m. when Cranberry Township Police were called for a suspicious man who had stopped his vehicle near the golf course entrance. The man, later identified as Logan Cumberland, 37, of Ellwood City, was armed with a rifle and left before police arrived. Officers found the vehicle with firearms inside but could not locate the suspect.

At approximately 3 p.m., officers located Cumberland in a wooded area near the golf course and fatally shot him. No officers were injured during the confrontation.
